So mafftopia keeps you updated on the latest “all of the above” developments – with reactions, opinions and commentary – to help separate what’s good for our lives from what very much isn’t.
We do a regular daily-ish news update on YouTube and X.
And we do the occasional Deep Dive video, to delve deeper into any science or technology topic that seems especially relevant right now.
Oh and also, because I like Science Fiction and weird/uncanny cultural stuff, we also report on SF news when it has a particular connection with what’s really going on around us.

Who’s maff?
I’ve spent about thirty years in IT, working with both challenger startups and big incumbent banks and the like, chiefly in London.
I’ve written a bunch of books on software systems design, testing and agile design processes.
I love trading – not in the Pokemon sense, but as in Bitcoin, stocks, forex, metals etc. I co-created (and continue to develop!) a chart indicator called Quadzilla – at its core a Quad Rotation Stochastic Oscillator indicator – available on TradingView.
I regularly co-host a Crypto Trading livestream with YouTuber @SaveWithCrypto – it’s a lot of fun!
I’m also a fiction writer – weird, uncanny, unsettling SF (as a slipstream-ish combined genre) is my thing. That feeling of something around you just not being quite right…
